A computer based Driver Theory Test was introduced in Ireland in 2001. Since 2001 a number of questions were added to the original list and more than likely more will be added in the future. By legislation, before applying for a Learner Permit, candidates must complete and pass a test of their general road safety knowledge and motoring legislation. Ireland's online driver theory test allows users to take sample tests and mark difficult questions for revision. Users can ignore the easier questions and maximise their chance of passing the Driver Theory Test. Each user has a personalised list of questions that is automatically built up as more tests are taken - each time a question is incorrectly answered in a test it is automatically added to their marked list of questions. Each time a marked question appears in a test and the user answers correctly it’s removed from their personalised list. Also users can browse through certain categories and manually mark questions for revision. Differences from the CD and Book The book and CD both cost almost 20 Euros but this site has all the material for a cost of €9.99. However this site has not got the questions listed in Irish and no sound is available for each question - unlike the CD. The CD contains bus, motorcycle, truck etc questions but this site just focuses on the Car Driver Theory Test. This site is only recommended for people attempting to pass the Car Driver Theory Test, besides adding questions for revision the site allows users to easily pick up from where they left off. Users can enter the question number and jump straight to that question when studying - unlike the CD where if the user wished to go to question 151 of Traffic Signs the user needs to manually traverse through the first 150 questions. The official Driver Theory Test website is dtts and you may order the book/CD or ask any questions about the Theory Test from that official website. We are an independent website hoping to help people learn the rules of the road and aid them in passing their Driver Theory Test.
